South America is the continent situated in the Western Hemisphere. It is the fourth largest continent in the world and includes countries like Brasilia, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and many others. South America is famous for its varied geography including the Amazon rainforests, the Ands and vast savannahs. The region has a rich cultural heritage including the original cultures like Incas and Mapuche people and is also strongly affected by European and African traditions. South America has the rich fauna and flora and is a home of many unique animal species like jaguars, llamas and toucans. The continent is also important for its export of raw material, namely oil, import of foodstuffs and as a touristic destination for its beautiful nature and historical monuments.
